Alexandra Palace, London, 09/11/2013
After two promising performances by special guests such as Walking Papers ( in the band, the former drummer of Screaming Tress , Barrett Martin and bassist Duff McKagam ) and the eccentric on-stage presence of the Swedish Ghost ( band that Dave Grohl played with their magic wands ) , the crowd was exclusively at the cold Alexandra Palace for Alice in Chains, and with high expectations, they were not disappointed .Vocalist William Duvall, who recorded the last two albums with AIC is charismatic and competent. Walking on Staleyâs shoes is not an easy task , but Duvall was energetic and with full control of the stage . No, he’s not a perfect match with Cantrell , but indeed he is a very important piece in the quartet.
Jerry Cantrell and Co. presented songs from the exceptional album Dirt with a mixture of the newer songs, such as Hollow and Stone from the latest album released , The Devil put Dinosaurs Here . The night begun with the master sequence Them Bones , Damn in the River, Check my brain and Again . Also on the set list, Man in the box , Down in a Hole , We die young and No Excuses. Right in the middle of the set, they played Rotten Apple, and despite never having Duvall compared to Layne , the vocal similarity in that particular song that you could see people crying around you. Classic double trouble Would? and Rooster closed the Londonâs set. The performance had also visuals elements on big screens in the background, keeping the audience hypnotized.
